Mon Ami Sico

Sico et Cloé ‎– Mon Ami Sico

Cute French Space Disco. It is fun just to imagine that Rah Band plays for pre-adolescent children. This Production’s name is “Corporation Robotique Internationale”. What a nice name!

California Dreaming

california dreaming pictureDenial – California Dreaming

I’ll be spinning vinyls at the 4th of June at my favourite spot in the universe – the Uus Õu garden in Tartu, Estonia and later in the night at the vibrant Genialistide Klubi. Even if everything is most likely going to be totally awesome all the time with happy people everywhere, maybe it’s still ok to play some melancholic records? In the picture California fashions of 1967.

Special message to all who are Disco

bday2015_1

Ben Thomas – Sooleymon

Midnight Movers Unltd – Follow The Wind pt 1.

Face it. You’re no saint so indulge to the max in your vices at least once a year. In the evening of 16th of January A.D. 2015, give in to gluttony, lust and greed and celebrate with us all that is excessive, over-the-top and brilliant in the music we love, for hours and hours. Italo, funk, disco and beyond. Rare tracks and anthems. It’ll all be there to really wallow in, from exotic, sophisticated hothouse flowers to indescribable, sick sonic funghi from hell. From deep powerful vocals by mighty Divas to the flimsiest sighs from young girls who look like they’re sixteen but act like they’re twenty-one. No holds barred. Top tunes from a top lineup. The event will be re-broadcast on the 17th in case it’ll all become too much for you – though of course too much of a good thing is the best thing ever.

Dilemma

Moderne – Dilemma (1981)

Not everything ending with “wave” as a musical genre has to be desperate and gloomy. It’s just a tad melancholic and chilly here, as expected.

Tā Es Mīlu

Zigmars Liepiņš – Tā Es Mīlu (1983)

C.C.C.P.-made P-Funk-infused robotic synthpop, sort of… or totally not.

Vacances à deux

Kira – Vacances A Deux (1981)

Belgian silliness. Which means it’s good.

Jump

It lacks a bit of oomph and maybe a good chorus, but it’s quite good in my book though.

Leave In Silence

First DM’s great single. This mix is made of 2 versions of song included in 12 ” single (Mute, 1982).

Dan Lacksman’s Pop Corn

Oh no! I hear you say. Not yet another Pop Corn rehash… But IMO this one is way better than the others. The drum kicks in like hell and the Moog is played gritty and dirty.

Although no one is credited on the album I’m sure the author is Dan Lacksman (from TransVolta, and, obviously, Telex fame): all the “fillers” are actually tracks from his Electronic System project.

The Real Spirit of the 80s – Part 1

A bit late but here comes our last Spaced Out Disco Session. As we’re pretty busy at the moment in case of launching our own label “Emerald & Doreen” we couldn’t pack new sounds in this session. We gonna present you the first part of an 80s set we were playing at a party which took place some months ago. Hope you enjoy that though.

Biba

The following tracks don’t particularly shine in any way, but they become nonetheless interesting to those-in-the-know by taking a look at the credits: the first one was produced by Jean-Pierre Massiera (hard to believe, isn’t it), and the second one by Giorgio Spagna (Cyber People, etc) and Davide Romani (Change), under Gianfranco Meo’s supervision (Easy Going.)

How come her songs couldn’t be any better with such a great producers roster…

Biba – Close To You (1983)
