Flight 2

29997896589764578695Angelo & Eighteen – Flight 2

Images of ladies with fast bikes and proto disco tracks from the early 70s need no reasoning. Candy apple red CB750 comes from Japan and the tune from the UK (1972).

Super Man Super Cool

299876349569599Jacky Chalard – Super Man Super Cool

Even the coolest French thing you could drive in 1975 wouldn’t turn her head unless you had opted for the velour interior to match her ethics and best friend (France, 1975).

Dance Music

36786976769876028u3Anne – Dance Music

One of the best examples from the never ending catalog of Bollywood ‘dance music’. This one runs about 3 minutes, but it’s tempting to get two copies for dancers who love extended versions.

Har-You Percussion Group

Har-You Percussion Group – Feel Me Good

One of the most amazing, or rather THE most amazing night club ever concieved: The Altre Cose & Bang Bang.
The Altre Cose boutique opened in Milano in 1968. In the street level store, designed by the architect team Jacober, Rizzato and LaPietra, transparent tubes containing fashion creations slowly descended from the ceiling, enabling you to inspect the clothes. Underneath the shop three was the discothéque Bang Bang. To enter, you stepped into a coffin-like plexiglas lift contraption that slided two at a time down into the subterranean space where people lounged and danced the jerk and the shake – perhaps to tracks like Feel Me Good?

Africa Sound

29978698569780935687304568+34Jean Paul & Angelique – Africa Sound

Jean Paul & Angelique long play is quite easy to find from Finnish fleamarkets. There must have been a huge cut-out stock of these back in the days. Jussi has already posted the great Computer Man and there’s so much more. My choice for the dance floor has been Africa Sound with bongos, flutes and crazy chorus (Italy, 1975).

Life Is Real Only Here

Life Is Real Only Here

Should you have a soft spot for pulse disco – and by your choice of reading & listening material we take our chances – the works of Wolfgang Bock and Andre Ceccarelli should prove to be interesting as both provide delicate yet authoritative soundscape designs. The opening track Cycles by Bock and the following Life Is Real Only Here by Ceccarelli are extremely sophisticated explorations of space, texture and structure, set to a gently throbbing and definitely danceable beat. I also added a couple of other relating cuts of equally peaceful/agitated palette and subject matter.

Santa Fè

Your hippie friends are planning a disco party at the desert and you’re still undecided what to wear? Our favourite supermodel got everything right in 1968. Equally impressive soundscape was designed by Capuano-Tosti-Capuano in 1976.

Hills Of Bondhalla

Hills Of Bondhalla

I’ll fly with you
To the Mystic Hills of Bondhalla!

Smoke-scented breeze fills the trees
And you drift away
Slowly downstream in a dream
That goes on and on
On forever!

From meditative moods to fuck-art-let’s-dance bangers, here’s some of the music I played and should have played at Camp Cosmic 2013 in the hills of Bondhalla, Sweden.

Amore

gasManolo Gas & The Tinto Band Bang – Amore

If there ever was a tune allowed to play when driving a prototype Countach and having stimulating conversation with the significant other – it is here. Covers usually are better than the original and there’s no exception to the rule with Manolo Gas & The Tinto Band Bang making their version of the impossibly addicting original. It has all the elements you could possible hope for. Perfect soundtrack when travelling and more than able to set the woods on fire, not literally I hope.  Happy tripping to all you disco people in the forest!
