Cosmopolitan Wave

cosmopolitan.JPG

(Pathé-Marconi/EMI 1979)

cosmopolitan wave – red wave

cosmopolitan wave – blue wave

cosmopolitan wave – green wave

Estrak Lancios aka French arranger-studio musican Bernard Estardy (of Universal Energy, Daisy Daze & the Stereo Ultra albums fame) throws atonal jazz, 60’s style musique concrete and electronic noises over a New York disco beat.  Big budget production sounds like Boris Midney on acid and must have been a bit avant-garde for most when realesed. Apparently sensing this, Estardy added xeroxes inside the folding sleeves providing a detailed French language explanation of the concept. There is also a list of the people involved both in Paris and in London, where the stuff was recorded.

“Cosmopolitan Wave” A-side  has colour-themed tracks running into each other and “Carnival Wave” B-side has 3 separate titles.
