Bombay Royale

While most bollywood stuff these days tend to follow modern, global musical production trends, there are still those who seek the sound of those all-but-forgotten, good old days. The Bombay Royale draw on a lot of different sources in their music, but the action mostly revolves around their Indian-speaking male/female vocalists. Backed by an ensemble full of musical skill and creativity, they actually succeed to capture that oldschool, soundtrack-y feeling that we love here on the blog. I can very much recommend their first two albums, there a many good songs on, with influences also from disco, psychedelic rock, surf and much more. Below are just a few examples.

Wild Stallion Mountain
Sote Sote Adhi Raat
The Island of Dr Electrico
