Kendini Beğenmiş

…AKA The Tavuk Song. Not much is known about this mid-80s turkish release, but it is kind of unique for its time. Lyrics are cryptic with lots of (ironic?) machismo attitude:

You are a pitiful Skoda, don’t go up against a Mercedes
If you’re afraid of loving, do not interfere with the lovers
Enough is enough, don’t make me grumble, nor act the giddy goat
You are just an egg layer, do not crow like a rooster
The era is the 20th century, may it not be the old century
If you feel like it, you’ll also bite someone

Galip Boransu – Kendini Beğenmiş
