Barbarella
Finally, a disco version of the title song from Roger Vadim’s 1968 film Barbarella.
As we all know, for a brief period of time during the late 1960′s the future actually happened, influencing fashion, architecture, interior design and cinematic masterpieces like Mario Bava’s Diabolik, Elio Petri’s La Decima Vittima and Barbarella. Compare the work of, say, starchitect Zaha Hadid to the asymmetrical, multileveled amoeba-like city of Sogo seen in the Vadim film.
The production design of Barbarella is credited to Mario Garbuglia, though the creator of the original comic strip Jean-Claude Forest supervised the unique sets and props, all hand made in Italy.
